When I was diagnosed with MS I thought my life was over, not only because I couldn’t work as a teacher anymore. Eventually I found out that if I looked out for others I could still do a lot of things, like keeping the library in our small town alive. I still open it twice a week (as a volunteer). I helped to found an association (and now I’m the head of it) that organizes events for the children and seniors in our area. I think I’m more active now than ever – because I kept my heart open.
